I offer a professional and confidential counselling service using telephone or face-to-face counselling.
Counselling offers you an opportunity to talk in confidence with someone who is impartial and separate from your personal, social and family or working life. It can help to have a space where the time is yours, there are no demands or expectations, where what you say is private and confidential and you can express yourself freely.
This process of exploring your thoughts, feelings and behaviour will often bring some relief and may enable you to make some changes in your life. Counselling can also help you to come to terms with what you can't or don't want to change.
As a counsellor I see my task as:
- creating a confidential and supportive environment for you;
- working to see your world from your point of view;
- accepting you as you are and where you are now;
- giving clear responses to you as a person and to your issues and problems;
- helping you, if you wish, to explore options.
I will work with you as an equal, respecting the fact that it is essentially you who understands what is best for you. It is part of my job to help you reach that understanding.
Some people find that telephone counselling is more convenient since it eliminates travel and can be easier to fit into a busy schedule. In some cases, however, it may not be appropriate.
The first counselling session lasts for 1.5 hours.
This is an opportunity for you to:
- outline what you are looking for from counselling.
- discuss whether or not counselling is appropriate for you, and if so the number of sessions you may need.
- obtain any further information that you may require about the way in which I work.
- Couple Counselling also available.
Fees per 1 hour session
Telephone counselling - £25
Face-to-face counselling - £28
Couple Counselling - £35
Counselling Supervision also available
If you are on a low income/ benefits etc. we may negotiate a lower fee. You may find that private health insurance will pay for counselling. Referrals taken from General Practitioners etc.
I regret that at present I am able to offer this service in English only.
